An Individualized Approach to Chiropractic Care

At Achieve Wellness Chiropractic & Nutrition Center, Dr. Ley believes effective care begins with understanding the individual and seeking the root cause, rather than simply addressing symptoms.

Her chiropractic approach incorporates systematic structural assessments, including evaluations of body position, movement, and the relationship between muscles, joints, and fascia (the connective tissue that surrounds, connects, and supports muscles and other structures throughout the body).

Central to her structural assessment is the Activator Method, which goes beyond the use of a chiropractic adjusting instrument. The Activator Method applies a systematic evaluation helping identify structural and functional concerns, guiding decisions and allowing a tailored chiropractic care approach to each patient’s individual needs.

By utilizing these assessments and considering a patient’s history, physical function, and individual concerns, Dr Ley develops a personalized approach designed to support improved mobility, comfort, and overall well-being.

A Philosophy Rooted in Faith, Natural Wellness & Education

Dr. Ley’s approach to wellness is grounded in her professional experience and personal faith. She believes the human body was designed with an innate capacity to heal and that supporting its natural functions is essential to achieving and maintaining wellness.

Her philosophy emphasizes proper nourishment, fresh air and sunlight, optimal nervous system function, movement, exercise, and daily habits that support the body’s natural processes. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she seeks to identify underlying imbalances through root cause analysis, incorporating chiropractic care, individualized nutritional guidance, lifestyle education, and other supportive wellness techniques when appropriate.

Education is central to this philosophy. Dr. Ley encourages questions, explains the reasoning behind her recommendations, and empowers patients to take an active role in their own wellness journey. Her goal extends beyond addressing immediate concerns to helping individuals develop the knowledge, understanding, and habits that promote lasting well-being.

Her dedication to education extends beyond individual appointments through community classes, seminars, and newsletters exploring nutrition, lifestyle, and natural wellness. She also maintains a lending library in her office, encouraging patients to continue learning and discovering ways to support their body’s natural abilities.

Leadership in Nutrition Circles

As Chapter Leader of the North Baltimore County chapter of the Weston A. Price Foundation, Dr. Ley promotes greater awareness of the relationship between traditional foods, sound nutrition, and long-term health.

The Foundation draws on the nutritional traditions of cultures around the world, emphasizing nutrient-dense whole foods, sustainable farming, and traditional methods of food preparation. These principles closely align with Dr. Ley’s belief that nutrition plays an essential role in supporting the body’s natural functions.

Through her chapter leadership, Dr. Ley organizes bimonthly meetings for local communities to learn the Wise Traditions of nourishing, nutrient-dense foods, traditional food preparation, and sustainable farming practices. These gatherings provide opportunities to share knowledge, explore the nutritional wisdom of earlier generations, and discover practical ways to incorporate these traditions into everyday life.

Her leadership reflects a commitment to preserving traditional nutritional knowledge and making it accessible to individuals and families throughout the community.

Practicing What She Teaches

Dr. Ley’s interest in natural wellness extends into her everyday life. She enjoys gardening and preparing traditional foods, including homemade yogurt, sourdough bread, and fermented foods.

Outside the kitchen, her interests include hiking, biking, kayaking, reading, traveling, and listening to soothing music.

Family is equally important to her. She and her husband, Bill, have been married for more than 40 years and are the proud parents of three adult sons and grandparents of two grandchildren.

For Dr. Ley, wellness is more than a collection of treatments. It is a lifelong commitment to learning, making informed choices, and developing habits that support a healthier life.

At Achieve Wellness, that philosophy begins with understanding you as an individual.
